Headquartered at the border town of Eureka, the 44th annual running of the event
begins Sunday, June 20, 2004, with a safety inspection at Big Sky Exxon in Eureka, and the first 200 mile leg of the endurance run will be south to Kalispell, west to Libby and North to Eureka after a colorful send
off from the towns Historical Village on Monday Morning.
The second leg on Tuesday, will extend to the Idaho border, and will include Montana's
remote beauty of the Yaak and Bull River country with stops in Libby and Troy.
The third leg on Wednesday, will start with a dash to the international border with
Canada, then across Montana's highest and longest bridge to the Amish community on the west side of Lake Koocanusa.
On Wednesday afternoon, the three cars with the best time will be stripped down to the
pistons to verify they are powered by authentic four cylinder 20 horse power Model T Engines. Then the group will gather at the Chamber of Commerce.
Official 2004 Model T 500 events finish Thursday with an optional leisure tour of the
Libby Dam project, including a cruise on Lake Koocanusa.
